What tape is

tape is a test harness for Node and browsers that produces TAP output. Test files require tape and run with node directly. The tape binary also runs tests and expands glob patterns across files. Tests receive a t object with plan, assertion and end methods, and test functions can be async. Command-line flags preload modules and ignore paths. Another flag fails the run when any test is marked only. The core stays minimal, and separate modules add reporters and other features by consuming the TAP stream.
