Trends
Trends compare two monthly snapshots of the same API fields. Each snapshot is written once, at a monthly update, and never edited. Every row shows the values from both snapshots and the date each was fetched. Tables are sorted by the stated key, never by opinion.
Metrics as of , from the GitHub or GitLab API of each repository. Refreshed monthly.

A second snapshot is needed
Only one snapshot exists so far (2026-09). A trend is a difference between two dated values, so the trend tables appear on this page once the next monthly update writes a second snapshot.
The quarterly tables compare the latest snapshot with the latest one at least 3 months older. Until that snapshot exists, they compare with the oldest snapshot on file, and the heading states both months.
Four tables are computed: most stars gained, most commits in the 90 days before each fetch, newly listed tools and newly archived repositories. The stars and commits tables show the first 20 rows by their key. The newly listed and newly archived lists show every tool, in alphabetical order of address.
Current single-snapshot values are on the home page (most commits in the 90 days before the fetch) and in every tool table.
