What Chai is
Chai is a BDD and TDD assertion library for Node.js and the browser. It can be paired with any JavaScript testing framework. It offers three assertion styles: assert, expect and should. Each style can be imported as a local variable or registered globally. With Mocha, a style is registered through the --require option. In the browser, the index.js file from the npm package loads as an ES module. A plugin architecture extends Chai's assertions and interfaces. The project maintains a list of plugins on its documentation site.
