What WebdriverIO is
WebdriverIO is a test automation framework for Node.js that targets browsers and mobile apps. It covers end-to-end tests as well as unit and component tests in the browser. Tests run on WebDriver, WebDriver BiDi or Appium automation. Framework adapters exist for Mocha, Jasmine and Cucumber. Tests run locally or in the cloud on Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, TestingBot or TestMu AI. The @wdio/cli package provides the test runner command line, and create-wdio sets up a new project. Reporter packages produce Allure, JUnit XML, spec, dot and concise output. Services cover starting Appium, Lighthouse commands and a store shared across processes.
