What Cypress is
Cypress is a testing tool for applications that run in a browser. It supports end-to-end, component, accessibility and API testing. Component tests cover React, Angular, Vue and Svelte. The Cypress App is an open source, locally installed application for writing and running tests. Tests also run from the command line, locally and in CI. Supported browsers are Firefox and Chrome-family browsers, including Edge. It installs as an npm package on Mac, Linux and Windows. Cypress Cloud is a separate service that records runs and adds analytics, flake detection and Test Replay.
