What PHPUnit is

PHPUnit is a testing framework for PHP aimed at programmers. It follows the xUnit architecture shared by many unit testing frameworks. It is distributed as a PHP Archive (PHAR) file that bundles every required dependency. It can also be installed with Composer together with its dependencies. The project is split into separate components maintained by Sebastian Bergmann, including php-code-coverage, php-timer and sebastian/diff.
