What Maestro is
Maestro is an open-source framework for UI and end-to-end testing of Android, iOS and web apps. Tests are written as flows: flat lists of YAML commands such as launchApp, tapOn and assertVisible. Flows run on emulators, simulators, browsers and physical Android devices; physical iOS devices are not supported yet. The framework drives apps through the platform accessibility layer and installs as a single binary without drivers or SDKs. The same commands apply to React Native, Flutter, native, Ionic and hybrid apps. The CLI requires Java 17 or higher. It includes an MCP server that lets coding agents control an app on a live device.
