What Patrol is
Patrol is an end-to-end UI testing framework for Flutter apps, maintained by LeanCode. It extends Flutter's integration_test package with native automation, so tests can interact with the operating system around the app. Documented native actions include granting runtime permissions, tapping notifications, toggling Wi-Fi or cellular data and switching dark mode. Tests are written in Dart with patrolTest and custom finders that locate widgets by key or text. The custom finders also ship as a standalone patrol_finders package. The patrol_cli command-line tool is required for native automation and adds Hot Restart while tests are developed. The README notes that iOS and macOS projects can use Swift Package Manager.
