What Locust is
Locust is an open source performance and load testing tool covering HTTP and other protocols. Test scenarios are written as regular Python code. Each simulated user runs in its own greenlet, so scenarios read as blocking code without callbacks. Tests run from the command line or from a web UI. The web UI shows throughput, response times and errors in real time. Load can be changed while a test runs. Results can be exported for later analysis. Load tests can be distributed across multiple machines. Custom clients extend testing to other systems and protocols.
