What Vegeta is
Vegeta is an HTTP load testing tool built to drive services at a constant request rate. It works both as a command-line tool and as a Go library. The CLI is designed for UNIX composability, with separate attack, report, plot and encode commands. The attack command reads targets in http or json format and sets rate, duration, headers and TLS options. Reports are available as text, JSON, histograms or hdrplot output. The README states that Vegeta avoids coordinated omission and can be used for distributed load testing. Packages exist for Homebrew, MacPorts, Arch Linux and FreeBSD, alongside pre-compiled executables.
