What autocannon is
The autocannon package is an HTTP/1.1 benchmarking tool written for Node.js and inspired by wrk and wrk2. It supports HTTPS and HTTP pipelining. The command line takes a target URL plus options for concurrent connections, duration, request count, method, headers, body and rate limits. Requests can also be replayed from a HAR file. The same benchmarks run programmatically through a JavaScript API that returns results by callback or promise. A workers mode spreads load across Node.js worker threads. The README notes that the process is CPU-bound and suggests wrk2 when it saturates the CPU.
