What AssertJ is
AssertJ is a Java library of strongly typed assertions for unit tests. It works with JUnit, TestNG or other test frameworks. Assertions start from assertThat on the object under test, and code completion lists the checks available for its type. The core module covers JDK types such as String, Iterable, Stream, Path, File and Map. Separate modules add assertions for Guava, Joda Time, Neo4J and relational database types. A Swing module provides an API for functional testing of Swing user interfaces.
