What Krkn is
Krkn, also called Kraken, is a chaos and resiliency testing tool for Kubernetes. It injects deliberate failures into clusters to check whether they withstand turbulent conditions. Its documentation lists scenarios for pods, nodes, containers, networks, storage, DNS, application outages and zone outages. The documented cloud providers are AWS, Azure and GCP. Node scenarios also cover bare metal. Krkn runs outside the cluster. It performs metric checks during and after each scenario. It can be driven through the krknctl CLI, krkn-hub or the Krkn Operator for Kubernetes.
