What Gatling is

Gatling is a load testing platform in which performance tests are written as code. Its SDKs cover Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin and Scala. Supported protocols are HTTP, WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, JMS, gRPC and MQTT. It runs on a non-blocking, asynchronous architecture. Tests live in version control and run in CI/CD pipelines, where performance gates can block a release. Browser sessions can be recorded and exported to test code. Dashboards, SLO monitoring, SSO and role-based access control belong to the separate Gatling Enterprise Edition.
