What Schemathesis is

Schemathesis is an API testing tool that derives test inputs from OpenAPI and GraphQL schemas. It adapts to server responses and chains operations into workflows. It looks for server errors, schema violations, validation bypasses and stateful bugs. Stateful testing infers operation links from the schema. Authentication, custom checks, fuzz dictionaries and rate limiting are configurable. Reports come in JUnit, VCR, HAR, NDJSON, JSON and Allure formats. It runs as a command line tool configured through schemathesis.toml. A Python API generates pytest or unittest tests. A CI step is available as schemathesis/action. It is built on Hypothesis, a property-based testing library for Python.
