What Pact Broker is
Pact Broker is a Ruby application for sharing consumer-driven contracts and their verification results between consumer and provider projects. It is built for pacts from the Pact framework but accepts any contract that serialises to JSON. A RESTful API publishes and retrieves pacts, and an embedded HAL browser navigates it. The broker generates documentation for each pact and draws network diagrams of services. A matrix shows which consumer and provider versions are compatible. Webhooks can trigger a provider build or a Slack notification when a pact changes. Application versions can be tagged, for example as prod. It runs from a Docker image or as a Ruby app with PostgreSQL, or SQLite for local trials.
