What MockServer is
MockServer is a testing tool that acts as an HTTP(S) mock server and a proxy. It mocks HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, gRPC, WebSockets, raw TCP and message brokers such as Kafka and MQTT. Requests are matched on method, path, query string, headers, cookies and body, including JSONPath, XPath, regex and OpenAPI matchers. As a proxy it records, inspects and modifies traffic, with breakpoints for stepping through exchanges. Chaos testing injects latency, dropped connections and errors into dependencies. Expectations come from a REST control plane, an OpenAPI specification, or clients for Java, JavaScript, Python and Ruby. It runs from Docker, Helm, a JAR or WAR, or the mockserver CLI. The README lists Java 17 or later for MockServer 6.x.
