What Datafaker is
Datafaker is a Java library that generates fake data. It is a fork of java-faker with updated libraries and additional fake generators. Version 2.x requires Java 17. The older 1.x line targets Java 8 and is no longer maintained. The README shows usage from Java, Kotlin and JShell after adding the Maven or Gradle dependency. A Faker object exposes providers such as names and addresses. Passing a Locale to Faker produces locale-specific data. Expressions build values from templates, regular expressions and option lists. Collections and streams generate lists or unbounded sequences of values. Schemas and transformers output records in formats including CSV, YAML and XML. Applications can register custom providers.
