What Bogus is
Bogus is a fake data generator for .NET languages, including C#, F# and VB.NET. The project describes itself as a C# port of faker.js, with syntax modelled on FluentValidation. Its purpose is filling databases, user interfaces and applications with fake data for testing. Rules are declared per property on a Faker<T> class using built-in data sets such as names and internet addresses. Data sets exist in many locales, with English as the fallback when a locale lacks one. A global or per-instance seed produces repeatable sequences across runs. It ships as a NuGet package. Minimum targets are .NET Standard 1.3, 2.0 or .NET Framework 4.0.
