What jest-image-snapshot is
jest-image-snapshot is a Jest matcher for visual regression testing that compares images with stored baselines. It adds a toMatchImageSnapshot() assertion that accepts PNG image data, such as a browser screenshot. On the first run, the matcher saves a baseline image in an __image_snapshots__ directory next to the test. Later runs compare each new image with that baseline and produce a diff image on failure. Comparison uses pixelmatch by default, with an experimental SSIM structural similarity mode. Options set the per-pixel difference threshold, Gaussian blur, diff layout direction and custom snapshot directories. Baselines update through the Jest --updateSnapshot flag. Jest is a peer dependency, and versions below Jest 20 are not supported.
